The Community Linkage Facilitators Interventions now covers 10 districts of Bugiri, Busia, Buyende, Iganga, Jinja, Luuka, Kaliro, Kamuli and Mayuge in Eastern Uganda. The CLiFs were oriented to complement existing community structures for linkage of persons to care after HCT outreaches, linkage and follow-up of mother-baby pairs on treatment (PMTCT), home-based treatment adherence counseling for ART, sending appointment reminders for ANC visits, contact tracing and linkage to treatment for TB, community DOTs for TB as well as act as focal persons for the referral and linkage network. For quality monitoring the Health Centre In-charghes were also oriented together with CLiFs focused to increasing access to quality community based health services and messages among the under served populations. The CLiFs are equipped with HMIS Tools adopted from the Ministry of Health, for purposes of Uniformly reporting on the National Health Indicators. UDHA also motivates CLiFs with a transport refund and safari day allowance to facilitate the execution of their duties at Sub-county level.
