This project is a pilot headed by Marina Mai, a researcher from Washington University. The purpose of the study was to assess knowledge about menstruation and to distribute reusable sanitary pad kits. This assessment was carried out in 10 schools in Iganga municipal council and 2 schools in Naigobya village. Both boys and girls where assessed after which reusable menstrual dignity pads where distributed to girls in the 12 schools. After six weeks, assessment was done to find out attitude of the students who used the menstrual pads that where distributed, on addition we also wanted to find out if students could afford buying these pads and what they really wanted to change on the pad its self.
